Alleycross CX Race Report

Thru the magic of social media I got connected with Mr. Texas CX @texascx and was able to get the 411 on the Real Team Super Awesome underground Alleycross CX race in Austin this past Tuesday.

Below is my race report as detailed in text dialog with my wife.  Good times for sure!

Objects Appear Closer Than They Look

Is is Spring or Fall?
It's getting to be that time again.  You look over your shoulder and you see the reflection and realize that it's closer than it looks.  Close enough to where you have to start thinking about it.  Pondering it. Articulating it.  Designing it.

And thanks to the Head Juicer over at StudioLEMONADE we have a design.  A design that is clean. Simple. Focused.

An artist needs a canvas and this years will be provided by Curve, Inc.  Their product is top notch and they're a local company that's easy to do business with.

So it's time to focus on an image.  On an image that's closer than it looks.

The Devil is in the Details

A few of us from Cross Propz Racing headed up to the hills this weekend for an escape from the bikes and strapped on the boards for some skiing at Devils Thumb Ranch.  Hollywood was heating it up while I did my best impersonation of a skate skier.  Let's just say if it was a cross race, Hollywood would have lapped me.  Twice.

Hollywood Hot
In other news, congrats are in order for our very own Andy Harmon for the 2nd place finish in the Cat 4 Colorado Cross Cup competition.  Mr. Harmon had a sizable lead in the series for most of the year, but after getting upgraded to the Cat 3's he slipped to second.  Now if we can get the ACA to change the team name on the award to Cross Propz Racing, everything will be right in the world.

Without Further Ado

I remember telling my wife back in the summer that the Colorado cyclocross season would be going into January this year.  Like most folks I know, setting proper expectations is always important and I appreciate the promoters at Without Limits for honoring their commitment to January CX racing.

They say, "build it and they will come", but the test of January racing didn't pass this year.  Even though the turnout was low, enough fast guys showed up to make a race of it.  The crew at Without Limits put together a creative course out at the Boulder Rez and a good time was had by all.

And now, without further ado, it is done.

For a time.
